Kistrel's Spotlight: Maja Hallison

 

On any given day, we gather around the LGH fishing spots that provides us hours of casting pleasure while filling our purses with lindens!  Some are more of the casual fishers, some are hard-core competitors and some are, shall we say, the veterans of the game and it is here I decided to search for a candidate to highlight.  

With approximately 363 individuals to date, achieving an impressive 1 MILLION in XP and worthy and deserving of the recognition, I decided to go to straight to the top landing upon the legend that is—Maja Hallison. 

With a truly remarkable 62+ MILLION XP, and rising daily; and overall earnings in excess of 3 MILLION lindens, I am in the presence of LGH fishing royalty.

Firstly, I would like to thank Maja for taking the time to have a chat with me and share some of her journey within LGH and maybe even a tip or two along the way!

Q:  So Maja, would you care to share any of your Second Life journey including how and when you found Fish Hunt with us?

A: This was once to be read in my selection in the profile. You're a top fisher.

 On the journey that has been going on for many years now, I have met many nice people from all parts of the world.

This path was rocky, steep, impassable but you can do it with patience and perseverance. May 18th, 2012 First Rod Getting Started So the whole thing started a hunt and chase.

The journey is the goal, goal reached on 22.06.2015 YAY

Q: Maja, with so many fishing successes over the years, would you mind sharing what you think are the most memorable and why these stand out?

A: I often think of people who were in first place before me, but they are probably no longer in SL. Every time I overtook one of them in the rank, I sat for a few minutes, thought oh you were up. Where are you now. I found a lot of dear friends here. Unfortunately some of them RL no longer alive,, but in my heart they always stay in.

Q: What rod and worms do you regularly use and does this vary by event?  Do you utilise potions/shubbies etc?

A: I got the C2 for Christmas but in a special edition with bees on it. I usually use the yellow worms for single xp and the red worms for double xp and have been doing so for many years.
I don't have any shubbie at the moment

Q: What are your favourite fishing locations and why?
 

A: I don't have any favourite places. Everywhere is beautiful in their own way. Discover things often, sit yes just there, but my camera is on search.. What can you find here. Admire things that look so real. think how do you manage that.

Q: What advice would you give to new fishers who are just starting out in their LGH journey?
 

A: I advise a new one to have patience, to look at everything first, Not immediately buying the most expensive tool only to find out that's not what I wanted. But they don't have patience, see it almost daily how disappointed they are when a giant fish is not immediately on the hook. or you can reach thousands or millions of XP. Oh yes, you only see what you have received in the course of 12 years in terms of money. That's gross.. not net If you subtract the purchases, there is not much left over. This should be taken into account.  Success does not come overnight.
