Getting to know Jisset (Darkside Tinkerbell) and Nypmh Cove

What happens when you realize your ideal place does not exist in SL?  Well you build it of course and that is exactly what Jisset, founder and builder of Nymph Cove did and we are going to delve into her inspiration and reasons in further detail. It is important to note that while the majority of the content we write about for LGH is PG. Jisset and Nymph Cove present a challenge, Nymph Cove is very much a Disneyesque Adult Wonderland, as you get to know it's Host Jisset, you soon discover that what might make others blush, if for her normal and very natural behavior. So keeping within the strict policy off this site, much of the interview will be in "code" hopefully recognizable by the more mature reader. There is reference to consensual activities but we are talking to Jisset, about Nymph Cove, so this should be expected. Never backward about coming forward, Jisset is blunt and straight to the point with what she says and wants.  The below has been slightly softened in

Kistrel's Spotlight: Kelly Huntsman!

Thank you to all the readers who have popped along to peruse our next Spotlight!
For as long as I have been in LGH (which hasn’t been a hot minute in comparison to many others!) this individual has usually graced the podium on a weekly basis and if not, definitely securing a top 10 position.

As if that wasn’t enough to keep the average person busy, she also leads a Kingdom, is owner of one of my personal fav fishing locations and has a VERY helpful website that I would highly encourage anyone using potions and farming to check out!

So I would like to present to all my LGH family and friends (this is where the obligatory drum roll comes in!)…………...Kelly Huntsman!!

Firstly, I would like to thank Kelly for taking the time to have a chat with me and share some of her journey within LGH and maybe even a tip or two along the way!

Q:  So Kelly, would you care to share any of your Second Life journey including how and when you found Fish Hunt with us?

A: Like most people in SL for over a decade, 'been there, done that' is about the right answer to the journey. Except fishing, which I hadn't really tried, until one of my besties and LGH Mods, Takarra peer pressured me into trying it. A brand spanking new rod, a blue buoy to call my own for our land, 1 little farm with a water pump and bio, and as they say, the rest is history.

Q: Kelly,  with so many fishing successes over the years, would you mind sharing what you think are the most memorable and why these stand out?

A: Well as far as years..I barely went over a year recently. I claim February 21st, 2023 my official start date for fishing, which is when I got my competitor rod. When it comes to successes, I think my first royal fish hunt win is up there as one of the most memorable, because I learned an important lesson that you can burn out playing this game and spend way too much L if you get too wrapped up in winning. Having fun is the most important thing so when three of us were on the podium from P**nfish at the same time, I think that is the top most memorable experience yet.

Q:  Overall,, how many hours would you guess you have fished over the years and do you have any other activities you enjoy doing in Second Life...time permitting that is!

A: Funny you asked that, because last April I actually started keeping track of how many buoys I have fished each week so I would know if I'm spending too much time doing it. It's not an exact number because of buoys that may run out of fish, but I'd say it's very very close. Since last April I've fished approximately 4500 buoys. Since I mostly use tasty worms, that is about 3,375 hours of fishing. When first starting out I did not fish anywhere near as much as I do now...but in recent months I usually fish at least 10 buoys a day minimum.

Q: What rod and worms do you regularly use and does this vary by event?  Do you utilize potions/shubbies etc?

A:  Gahh looking for all my secrets! Just kidding not a big secret. I use the C2 Elemental rod now, which honestly I really didn't want to get, it's so expensive but when everyone around you is getting them it is hard not to so I can keep up. I love tasty worms, they seem just about right for my style since I really don't fish to make L, but I do at least break even using them. I do use enchanted occasionally because they are super fun to use, and fun is the name of the game, but I won't ever break my bank using them ever again just to keep up with anyone. All things in moderation is the key I think, even in fishing. Green shubbie is my go to, but I do have a red I like to whip out on weekends for double XP. That little sucker loves to eat so definitely just the weekends or when using enchanted worms with alacrity turned on, since it's a 22 second cast. In comparison a magic worm will only get you around a 20 second cast even with a red shubbie and alacrity on. (That was an extra secret hint for you there hehe)

Q: What are your favourite fishing locations and why?

A: I do love our own P**nfish area, but I tend to not fish it often. If I ever won the fishpot from my own buoy it would seem soooo lame. Thunderchilds buoys are probably my favorites because AJ is the greatest host of all time in LGH in my opinion. He probably should be our honorary proxy King in society just from all that he gives the community. Always some nice fishpots and it's fun to find a random multi running with no one around. So many places have really neat set ups, it's impossible to really rank them. Love to all the LOs for sure!

Q: What advice would you give to new fishers who are just starting out in their LGH journey?

A:  With fishing you will either hate it or become a super duper crazy addict. While you can technically make L from it, you really need to go into the game with simply having fun as the goal. Start out slow and learn the numbers, because getting really into this is all about numbers and percentages. Things constantly change around here. Wili gets an idea in his head and before you know it the whole dynamic shifts, so being flexible helps too. Also, LGH isn't just fishing, there are lots of pieces and separate games to it, like gold hunt, society, snuffles, farming, etc. The best thing I can say is pace yourself because burnout is very real and we don't want people to stop and never come back.

In closing, thank you Kelly for taking the time to speak with me and allowing me to put you in the Spotlight this week.  I am sure I speak for all of the LGH fishers when I say thank you for providing us such a great place to fish and collect mats!

Well there you have it folks, words of wisdom and advice along with a few tips from a true champ!

While I can't say I recall ever seeing Kelly wearing a heart, you can find hers in front of the Snuffle area oft the blue buoy at P**nfish so be sure to show her some love and appreciation.  Rumor also has it she may even have a board in the Society area now!!

Until next time, keep your rods stiff and your casting swift!

Making Friends Fishing

Making Friends Fishing In a world where many of us navigate social interactions with a touch of awkwardness ( waves...   Hi, I'm Jericho, and I'm a social klutz ), stepping out to forge new friendships or strike up conversations can feel daunting. One of the friends I've made is Kistrel Hawker, an absolutely amazing person. We were fishing at one of Kasabian's spots , quietly enjoying the scenery, when (Wili, don't even try to deny that you have a bit of a twisted, naughty sense of humor) BAM! I fished up an alacrity potion ( yay! ), and as I got hit with it, I exclaimed, "Oh yay, I got hit with Wili's patented golden shower." The next thing I know, Kistrel is spitting up her coffee and laughing so hard. We return to quietly fishing, sharing chuckles, and then BAM! We both nearly died laughing as Kistrel was hit with the "golden shower." Once we managed to regain control of ourselves, I told her that now she would always think of me every ti
