Kistrel's Spotlight: Kasabian

Hey there and welcome back!

I am so glad you popped by again for a visit and I hope you will continue to do so, each and every week!

I always have the kettle on, homemade cookies, alcohol if that is your preference and I can roll ya' a smoke if you like.  So really, there is no question as to why you shouldn't be here every week.

My next spotlight is on someone who I am not sure I have ever seen fish to be honest although I am sure they own a rod--maybe?!?! Then again, I tend to be cammed at the ground the majority of the time just trying to stay on!  ;-p  Having said that, they are very active within the community and have some of the quirkiest and creative builds I have seen AND they are located on some of the most prime real estate in SL!
In addition to the main blue Buoy, there are 3 red buoys you will find here. There is a group only yellow at The Jetty too. There are Krafties, games and loads of things to see, do, click on and just have good whimsical fun!

With little surprises around every corner, it truly is an "Alice in Wonderland meets Willy Wonka land"--on acid!! :-)

So in the event I haven't made it clear who our next spotlight shines on, let me introduce  Kasabian Constantine.
Q:  So Kasa, would you care to share any of your Second Life journey including how and when you found Fish Hunt with us?

A: Well in the beginning i started off collecting coins, then went onto the fishing around 10 years ago, i then became interested in having my own buoy so i got myself a basic Red Buoy that back then, gave out biowaste, the Red Buoys were the only ones to give this out at random when you caught a fish. As time went on i got different buoys and started hosting a few different spots and had coins all over my sim. Then got into the Snuffles and Farming when Composters were introduced, this then made the red buoys redundant on giving out biowaste and instead gives out more points in the competitions. As i knew the game Mechanics inside and out i became a Games Master for LGH, this was about 5 years ago now maybe more?? Here i am today now LGH Admin and still fishing!

Q: Now I am sure you do fish and I just haven't witnessed it as I usually see you chilling nearby at one of the buoys.  That being said, how often do you fish and has that changed any over the years?   When you do fish, what rod and worms do you use and are you fan of any specific potions?  Do you have any other favourite locations besides Wolfland?

A:  Sadly i do not have much time to stand around and fish all day, i fish when i can and try and stay in the top 200 overall ranks, and sit at 2,108,983 Fishing XP lol!
I farm my own worms so usually i'll be using Enchanted worms, mostly because i used to like to squeeze as many buoys as i could in a day xD. I used to fish alot at different places, Usually i'd target the Fat Fishpots! Then go for the Reds, So it wasn't a case of favorite place, it was more of what is available on the list at the time.

Q:  Following on from the above question, what other activities do you enjoy in Second Life?

A: Well alot depends on my mood, either i'll be fishing or doing some LGH related things, other than that i drive around the grid in various vehicles, sometimes play a few other games too, Little Devil is one of my favorites to play.

Q: Wolfland is a really great place and one of my FAV fishing spots, specifically the games room.  Having said that,  it does increase my fishing time as I am easily distracted with the LIttle devil and knocking over the house of cards!  What was your inspiration when creating the area and what else is on offer at Wolfland that I may have missed?

A:  Just random ideas at the time, i just go with whatever i have in my inventory and just slap it together and hope it works lol.

Q: What is your favorite part of LGH and what compels you to be so supportive of the community?  Is there any aspect from the years that no longer exists which you miss?

A: The community is my favorite aspect of LGH, this is what keeps me around. As for any aspects that no longer exists? I cannot really comment i'm afraid.

Q: Is there anything else that you wish to share with the community about yourself, Wolfland or just advice in general?

A:  Well all i can say is... Stay happy and safe, Always be good to each other, and if you cannot be good, be careful, and if you cannot be careful, go by a pram! LOL

In closing, thank you Kasa for taking the time to speak with me and allowing me to put you in the Spotlight this week.  I am sure I speak for all of the LGH fisher when I say thank you for providing us a great place to fish and have fun.

As I mentioned recently in another post, the LO's (landowners!) are really a critical component in LGH and we should extend our appreciation to all of them. as much as possible.  Always hit the vote station, place your favorites in your picks and shower them with some linden love!  Maintaining these areas is not cheap nor is ensuring the buoys are full to feed our fishing needs!

A Network State - What we in Second Life call The 1st Great Digital Republic

A "network state" is a concept developed by Balaji Srinivasan, an entrepreneur and investor, which refers to a new kind of society or nation that is organized primarily through digital means rather than traditional geographic borders. The idea is outlined in his book, The Network State: How to Start a New Country . Key Features of a Network State: Digital First : Unlike traditional nation-states, which are defined by physical borders, a network state is primarily digital. It begins as an online community that gradually builds up influence, resources, and recognition. Shared Values and Goals : A network state is formed around a common vision or shared values among its members. This could be anything from specific political ideals to cultural or technological goals. The community's cohesion is based on these shared principles. Physical Presence : While the network state starts digitally, over time, it may establish a physical presence in the form of land or real estate th...

Kistrel's Spotlight: Loverly

Hey there and omg, it has been a hot minute! I am so glad you have stopped by because I have truly missed you!!  I have fresh squeezed lemonade and homemade brownies baked especially for your visit and if that doesn't show how much i missed you, I don't know what will! So enough of my ramblings and on with the next spotlight! My next Spotlight is no stranger to securing a spot on the podium and that is just one of the many hats they wear,  I have had the pleasure of getting to know this individual more over the past month or so and while she is an absolute nutter (meant in the best way possible!) she is always so helpful, polite and someone we all adore and "love". To say she is non-stop from the moment she logs in is an understatement and she is honestly a multi-tasking guru and still maintains a top competitor status; in addition to the crafting, keeping us in line in chat, bthe endless messages she receives directly. and the list goes on......and on. So it is my p...
